About me
While visiting the blacksmith shop, students will see how metal is transformed into helpful and decorative items. The blacksmith will also demonstrate how the metal is heated in a forge - fueled by coal - until it turns orange in color. Then the metal will be hammered out into useful shapes for making agricultural tools - that would be used by farmers - shelf brackets, candle holders, hooks, and/or other tools that were used in earlier days - before electricity.
