About me
Goal: Our aim is to not only entertain but to educate the children about some of the music played in earlier days. Musicians will be playing mandolins, violins, and other string instruments, as they sing. They will also show/explain how each instrument is played and why they were common back in the day. ‘Then & Now - See The Changes’ will show some instruments of today. The musicians will be performing old-time folk/children’s songs and encourage the students and adults to sing with them. Songs like - SHE’LL BE COMING AROUND THE MOUNTAIN - I’VE BEEN WORKING ON THE RAILROAD - OLD SUZANNA - RED RIVER VALLEY - YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE - ITSY BITSY SPIDER - will make up a sing-a-long. Students will choose 1 or 2 songs from ‘NOW’ for everyone to sing also!
