Powerhouse: Vintage Cars & Garage: Vintage Memorabilia:
Wednesday May 14, 2025 8:30am - 8:50am PDT
The Powerhouse is one of the original buildings on site filled with electrical equipment from the early 1900’s. Walking into this small, brick building is like walking back in time to see Thomas Edison and Nikola Tesla. Water was an important factor in trying to produce electricity then. Students will be able to see peat bricks that were used to run a steam engine and a generator used to bring electricity to the house and barn of Mr. & Mrs. Purdy. Students will also have the ability to see what wiring would have looked like. Forget the Romex wires used today, in 1930 we had a system known as the knob and tube.

Thursday May 15, 2025 1:30pm - 1:50pm PDT
The Powerhouse is one of the original buildings on site filled with electrical equipment from the early 1900’s. Walking into this small, brick building is like walking back in time to see Thomas Edison and Nikola Tesla. Water was an important factor in trying to produce electricity then. Students will be able to see peat bricks that were used to run a steam engine and a generator used to bring electricity to the house and barn of Mr. & Mrs. Purdy. Students will also have the ability to see what wiring would have looked like. Forget the Romex wires used today, in 1930 we had a system known as the knob and tube.
