The students will see and hear the origin of all kinds of chicks. They will be shown the development of chicks in the egg and see the incubated egg hatch. They will learn why water is needed in the incubation and immediate post hatching, as well as the chicken’s entire life. At the conclusion of their visit the students will see the baby chicks in the brooder - drinking and feeding. Health concerns prevent the live hatching of eggs demonstration this year.
